Crime begins in the mind. As do responses to it. Gain a thorough understanding of the human mind, developing a psychologist's ability to analyze and evaluate, while also discovering the theoretical and policy issues relating to crime.
One of the aims of this degree is to give you the skills to gather, analyze and evaluate data about people’s behavior and thoughts. In coming to understanding how crime is dealt with, your studies will draw on disciplines such as social policy, sociology, psychology, and law.
You'll benefit from cutting-edge facilities such as electroencephalography (EEG) equipment for measuring brain activity, a brain simulation lab, an eye-tracking laboratory, and a baby lab. Thanks to our links with criminal justice agencies, you’ll get the chance to develop your learning through work placements and experience-enhancing visits.
Put what you learn into practice in our purpose-built replica crime scene facility right here on campus. A recent addition to the university, it provides detailed and realistic crime scenes for you to explore. Get hands-on: collect evidence, explore criminal activity, and see the world of forensic science brought to life.
Psychology students at Hull have access to their social area too. The bright, modern space has seating areas where you can meet before and after lectures and is a great space for group study.
