Course Overview

Sports Biomechanics looks to optimize human performance, reduce injury risk, and contribute to the rehabilitation and clinical management of athletes and clients. You will gain comprehensive, critical knowledge and understanding of both classical theory and models as well as selected specialized and current issues relevant to biomechanics and rehabilitation within human movement analysis, sport, exercise, health, and the clinical environment. All students will have the opportunity to develop expertise in the practical use of state-of-the-art biomechanics equipment related to human movement and performance, as well as associated software platforms for the measurement, analysis, and modeling of data. You will benefit from a wide range of teaching, learning, and assessment modes with an emphasis on practical skills and the use of technology.

General Eligibility

A 2.1 honors degree or equivalent in a discipline such as Medicine, Physiology, Anatomy, Sport and Exercise Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Physiotherapy, or other relevant Health Professionals Degree.
