Course Overview

This degree will give you an understanding of modern economies. You will gain insights into the ways that firms compete, the behaviors of individuals as consumers and workers, and how governments attempt to manage and regulate these processes. You will learn how these factors shape society by influencing economic growth, inequality, sustainability, and the response to natural and man-made crises. You will build skills in modeling, data, and analytical thinking €“ all will be of great value for your future life and career. This degree will furnish you will the skills and knowledge to become a professional economist, but will also appeal to those who are interested in economics from other perspectives. You will develop a clear understanding of how modern economies function and will appreciate the implications for government, organizations, and individuals. You will be part of a thriving community of students in the Business School, with opportunities for work experience and extra-curricular activities that support personal development. The School has a number of active societies and gives all students the chance to take part in national business competitions.

General Eligibility

GCSE Maths at grade C/4 required if not demonstrated by the Level 3 qualification. Offers are tariff-based, 80 - 120 tariff points, from Level 3 qualifications* e.g.: A Levels BTEC National/Extended Diploma and Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma: MMP - DDM International Baccalaureate Diploma Access: Pass City & Guilds Advanced Technical/Extended Diploma: considered on a case by case basis Welsh Baccalaureate is accepted.
