This is a vibrant course, designed to challenge you professionally, personally, and academically. The aim of the BA (Hons) Counselling and Psychotherapy is to provide a professional post-qualification progression route from Diploma to a full BA (Hons) award. In addition, this course offers a choice of two optional specialist routes. Route A. Adult. This route offers you the chance to develop your understanding of therapeutic work with adults with a specific focus on sexual issues in therapy. It also offers an innovative module introducing you to the emerging area of digital media in therapy. Route B. Children & Young People. This route is designed to meet a number of the BACP Competencies for working with young people (2014). This will help build skills and knowledge that enable you to develop a clinical specialism with children and young people, with a specific focus on working with creative media.
You must demonstrate current professional registration with a relevant organization such as the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP). You must hold a recognized Diploma in Counselling.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognized by Anglia Ruskin University.
