Course Overview

Media production offers exciting career paths, and this well-established course has seen many graduates progress to successful careers in the UK and international media.

Learn to make powerful, effective media products that connect with their target audience on a course that focuses your creativity and gives you the technical skills to bring your ideas to life. In addition, you explore the history of media and how cultural, economic and political factors influence media production.

You study a broad range of media content such as documentary, drama, radio, new media, scriptwriting, video and audio as well as media theory, film studies and working in the media. The focus is on the production process through practical video assignments, analysis of current practices and work placements/simulations.

General Eligibility

We will consider you as an individual and take into account all elements of your application, not just your qualifications. We are looking for breadth and depth in your current studies and enthusiasm for the subject you wish to study.

A Foundation Degree will be of particular interest if you have completed a Modern Apprenticeship, vocational A levels, BTEC National or equivalent.

Foundation Degrees are also particularly suitable if you want to qualify while working.

As a guideline, a typical offer would require you to obtain a UCAS tariff score of between 32-48 points, based on your level 3 studies.
