Course Overview

If youre interested in the connections between todays politics and their wider historical contexts, then this is the course for you. Youll learn to understand, evaluate and critically respond to external developments, processes, and questions in a historical and contemporary form that affect so many aspects of our daily lives. Well develop you into an independent thinker and researcher whos capable of producing your own interpretations of historical events through analysis of the evidence. The Politics element of the course provides you with training in political analysis and research methods. Youll look at theoretical and empirical issues that affect peoples lives and prospects at the local, national and international level €“ and we dont shy away from the controversial and practical questions.
