Course Overview

If you already have an HND or foundation degree, this course will allow you to top it up to an honors degree with just one year of additional study. Youll build on your all-around knowledge of business including organizational theory, business models, and factors that underpin a firms ability to deliver on the triple bottom line. The course also includes specialist modules in contract law and international trade law. Youll explore how the disciplines of law and business interact within an international commercial context. With a legal specialism as part of your degree award, youll have an extra edge in employability. Theres plenty of support for you to develop the academic study skills that are required. Whatever your background, well help you take the more critical, deeper, and research-informed approach thats needed for an honors degree at a UK university. There will also be opportunities to put your learning into practice. The Student Engagement Centre promotes all types of experiential learning including volunteering, internships, and placements. The Business Clinic enables our students to participate in a €˜consultancy firm to provide advice for our regions businesses. On graduation, youll be equipped to embark on a business-related career particularly in jobs that involve compliance, international sale contracts, and carriage of goods. Past students have used their additional insight into principles of law to build successful careers both in the UK and internationally.

General Eligibility

BTEC HND/Foundation degree, or equivalent in a related subject. If you have taken a BTEC HND program, we will usually expect you to have performed to an average of Merit standard. If you have taken a Foundation Degree, we will be looking for performance to Commendation level, or 60% average.
