University of East LondonYou will learn about the educational issues that we face today, and what we can contribute as psychologists by applying the latest research in positive psychology and well-being to support development and learning in educational settings.
The BSc Psychology with Positive Education equips you with the knowledge and skills for a wide range of professions, including educational psychology via further postgraduate learning as well as research or teaching.
You will build your understanding of how psychological theory, and more specifically positive psychology theory and wellbeing studies and research, intersect with education in a wide range of settings.
You will learn from academics working on ground-breaking research in psychology, positive psychology, coaching psychology and education. You will also develop the skills to apply psychological and educational theory to real-world situations through our opportunities to volunteer.
This course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and covers the core content you need to apply for graduate membership.
There are many jobs and careers that are options for you with a BSc Psychology degree. These include jobs within the allied psychology sector, such as employment specialist, psychological well-being practitioner, social prescribing link worker, well-being manager, mental health social worker, FE psychology teacher, research assistant or assistant psychologist. Some of these may require further training that we can help you with.
Some of our graduates choose to seek employment in non-psychology areas. These are jobs in areas where there are employers who want psychology graduates, due to the transferable skills you will gain during your studies. These include human resources, market research, civil service, business graduate training schemes, teaching, third sector and charity roles, administration, self-employed or entrepreneur, data work in public and private sectors and allied health professions.

We also welcome applications from students who are taking Level 3 or higher qualifications not on the UCAS tariff calculator and will assess the suitability, on a case-by-case basis.
In addition to one of the above, you should have:
GCSE English Grade 4/C or Level 2 Functional Skills in English
GCSE Mathematics Grade 4/C or Level 2 Functional Skills in Mathematics.
20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing and Speaking; 5.5 in Listening and Reading (or recognised equivalent).
