Course Overview

People with learning disabilities live, work, and socialize in our communities. But they need help to do so. That’s where our graduates come in.

Learn to change the lives of people with learning disabilities, while gaining professional skills and qualifying as a registered nurse.

Half study and half supported practice, this degree takes you into people’s homes, schools, treatment units, and care services.

The three-year course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality, evidence-based health care. On graduation, you'll be able to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a qualified registered nurse.

General Eligibility

112 Tariff Points from three A Levels (or appropriate Level 3 qualifications e.g., BTEC Subsidiary Diploma)

  • GCSE: English, Maths, and Science in Grade 4 or C or above

Alternative qualifications

  • IB Diploma: 28 points.

  • BTEC L3 Extended Diploma: DMM in a relevant subject(s).

  • Pass Access to HE Diploma overall with a minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points in Health and Social Care or Health-related subject

  • Alternative Maths – Functional Skills L2 Maths

  • Alternative science – BTEC First Diploma – Pass

  • University of Hull Certificate in Practice Skills for Health and Social Care (60 credits at Level 4 in appropriate subjects)

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • IELTS 7.0 overall, with at least 6.5 in the writing section and at least 7.0 in the reading, listening, and speaking sections.
