The course also provides you with opportunities to gain hands-on practical (field and laboratory) experience in hazard assessment in UK and overseas settings. You will develop your knowledge, skills, expertise, and confidence through a wide range of innovative assignments which use Geospatial Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), and Remote Sensing (RS) to evaluate/manage natural hazards and risk.
We also provide an invaluable opportunity for you to gain formal workplace experience by working in an external organization as a part of a full-time placement. Our graduating students gain professional employment in a wide range of sectors, allowing them to apply their knowledge and skills to drive change on the issues that matter to them.
The knowledge, skills, and understanding you will gain during the course will allow you to pursue a wide range of careers. Our graduates work in professions across a range of sectors, including Emergency management, hazard mapping, insurance, flood risk management and engineering, surveying, teaching, resilience, and consultancy. Some of our graduates continue their studies and go on to gain PhDs, master's degrees, and professional qualifications.

Please note that we accept a maximum of 8 UCAS points from GCE AS Levels and that the Welsh Baccalaureate (core) and A Level General Studies will be recognized in our offer. We will also consider a combination of A Levels and BTECs/OCRs.
