Course Overview

This programme was designed to provide academic progression for support workers. It's been mapped to National Occupational Standards, so you will gain the skills and knowledge related to your chosen professional route, as well as generic knowledge within ethics, values base and academic writing.

This programme will give you the knowledge and skills needed to become an Assistant Practitioner. You can also progress onto an allied health professional course, such as Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Radiography and Physiotherapy.

General Eligibility

  • NVQ Level 3 or Work Based Experience and Qualifications

  • GCSE at grade C/4 or above in Maths and English.  Functional Skills Level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy are also accepted.

  • All applicants must be working in a health and social care setting and have the support of their employer – as evidenced by a letter of support from the employer confirming provision of appropriate supervision within the work setting.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • The IELTS score for international applicants is 6 (with no less than 5.5 in each component).
