Course Overview

This is the study of politics on a grand scale. Explore the themes and issues which drive 21st-century world politics, on a course that takes in conflict, poverty, inequality, and trade.

Our Politics and International Relations degree takes you behind the headlines to gain expertise in international affairs – and you’ll have the opportunity to complete a semester abroad or an internship, either in Westminster or with one of our public- and private-sector partners.

This is an intellectually demanding program, taught by staff who are recognized for their research. That's reflected in the range of modules available, and the flexibility of the degree. You can tailor the course to fit your interests and career aspirations.

General Eligibility

Points can be from any qualifications on the UCAS tariff but must include at least 80 points from

  • A levels

  • BTEC Subsidiary Diploma, Diploma, or Extended Diploma

  • OCR Cambridge Technical Introductory Diploma, Diploma, or Extended Diploma

  • CACHE Diploma or Extended Diploma

  • Irish Leaving Certificate

  • Scottish Highers

  • Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Diploma

  • or a combination of appropriate Level 3 qualifications

Alternative qualifications

  • IB Diploma: 28 points

  • Pass Access to HE Diploma overall with a minimum of 112 UCAS tariff points.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • IELTS 6.0 overall, with no less than 5.5 in each skill.
