Course Overview

f you are curious about how decisions are made and communicated, why we have certain structures and organizations, and how they came to be formed, then this degree is for you. It enables you to approach key themes from both political and historical perspectives. You will gain a real-life understanding of the world of politics, looking at current practices in the UK, while also focusing on developments around the world. Historical context is provided by exploring key themes and events in modern history relevant to political and social development, from African-American civil rights to the origins of the Israel/Palestine conflict. You will graduate with key transferable skills, including the ability to conduct research, craft a message to communicate a point of view and analyze complex information.

General Eligibility

Typical offer 112-120 UCAS Tariff points. No specific subjects are required. We are happy to accept IB qualifications that achieve the required number of UCAS Tariff points. Subject-specific requirements at Higher Level (HL) Grade 5 may apply.

Access to Higher Education Diploma 45 credits at Level 3, for example, 15 credits at Distinction and 30 credits at Merit or 24 credits at Distinction and 21 credits at Merit. The required total can be attained from various credit combinations.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

• International students require IELTS 6.0, with a score no lower than 5.5 in each individual component, or an equivalent English language qualification.
