A Composites Technician employed within a Composites Manufacturing environment will find themselves at the heart of cutting-edge technologies using state-of-the-art equipment and become a skilled resource that will be an enabler for manufacturing technologies, processes, and practices.
A Composites Technician is engaged in various processes in producing and creating materials and components used in multiple applications, including but not limited to: airplanes, cars, boats, turbine blades, oil & gas rigs, bridges, trains, and satellites. They provide specialized knowledge and skills that support manufacturing programs and projects. They may be deployed in design, tooling, molding, lay-up, curing, machining, inspection, testing, repair, and material production. As the Technician grows in competence and expertise, other areas of composites technology, such as automated manufacture development, perform technologies, processing technologies, validation, and post-processing may form part of their role and responsibility.
Five GCSEs at Grade C/4 (or above), including Level 2 or GCSE C/4 or above in English, Maths, and Science
If an Apprentice has not already achieved Level 2 (GCSE C/4 or above) English & Maths, they must: -Study for and achieve Functional Skills Level 2 English & Maths
Initial Assessment on enrolment Level 2 Maths & English.
