Course Overview

You learn how understanding genetic, cellular, organism, ecological and evolutionary biology can be employed to benefit humankind and improve the environment. We draw on our local biotechnology industry and link with national experts to enhance your learning, ensuring you develop comprehensive knowledge and skills relevant to current industry and employer requirements. Your education includes extensive development of various laboratory techniques, professional and employment skills (highly regarded by employers), and a thorough understanding of biological principles. This learning culminates in a major research project in the final year, which is often linked to industrially significant applications.

General Eligibility

• 96-112 UCAS tariff points

You must have GCSE English and Mathematics at grade 4 (grade C) or equivalent and have studied at least one relevant subject at Level 3. Eligible subjects include:

• Biology

• Applied Science

• Typical Level 3 qualifications include:

• Levels (within a minimum of grade C from one relevant subject)

• BTEC Extended Diploma

• Access to HE Diploma

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

• The IELTS score for international applicants is 5.5 (with no less than 5.5 in each component).
