Course Overview

In these challenging times, it is more important than ever that we understand the transnational structures that affect our daily lives. And in the current context, advanced practical knowledge of the workings of the European Union and the dynamics of Brexit is undoubtedly an asset when entering the job market.

You’ll dive deep into how European integration works – politically, economically, legally, socially, and historically – and disintegration and the practical effects and meaning of Britain’s exit from the union.

Against the backdrop of Brexit, the need for a better understanding of European integration and disintegration has never been greater, both for UK students without the opportunity to experience Europe through Erasmus exchange and for EU students seeking to understand the dynamics of the UK’s exit from the union. That is why the MA in Contemporary European Affairs is designed as a flexible, multi-disciplinary postgraduate degree programme.

General Eligibility

A First or Upper Second Class Honours Degree in a relevant discipline (other Professional qualifications may be considered).

Applications from students who do not hold a 1st or 2:1 Honours Degree (or equivalent) may be asked to demonstrate the potential to achieve a Masters award via a sample of academic writing and interview before an offer is made.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

• English there is a language requirement of IELTS 6.5 overall with a 6.0 minimum of all components.
