The Senior Leader Apprenticeship (SLA) is an innovative alternative to a master’s in business, placing you and your organization at its core. This occupation is found in small, medium, and large organizations in the public, private, or third sectors and sustainability as an area of the economy, including health, finance, engineering, manufacturing, business and professional services, education, retail, leisure, technology, and construction. Senior Leaders are a vital component of all types of business models where there is a workforce to lead, manage and support. The general purpose of the occupation is to provide transparent, inclusive, and strategic leadership and direction relating to their area of responsibility within an organization.
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, although an initial assessment will take place to ensure the apprenticeship is the most appropriate training program for the individual. Candidates will need to be in employment (in England) where their line manager can support them through the apprenticeship- Individual employers will set the selection criteria for their Apprenticeship and employment role.
As a guide, candidates might have A levels (or equivalent) or existing relevant Level 3 qualifications and English and Maths at Level 2. (Where approved English and Maths qualifications are not held, these must be completed during the apprenticeship program).
Other relevant or prior experience may also be considered as an alternative alongside consideration of the suitability of the role being undertaken and the opportunities to develop and apply the required knowledge, skills, and behaviors.
