Course Overview

You’ll become an adept visual communicator, developing your skill via modules that focus on process, narrative, typography, branding and critical thinking. With an emphasis on design thinking and the communication of visual ideas, you’ll learn how to respond to project briefs and solve problems with focused and original thinking, communicated across a range of print and digital platforms.

Expert tutors and professional networks support this journey, helping you to rigorously define your design voice and preparing you for working in industry or postgraduate study.

You will:

  • Have an opportunity to visit London studios, such as brand design studios Wiedemann Lampe and Turner Duckworth, advertising agency BBH, and Pentagram – one of the world’s largest independent design consultancies

  • Enjoy optional travel to cities abroad to gain global perspectives on the subject

  • Work on graphic design briefs created with and supported by industry practitioners to build your network

  • Have the chance to enter creative competitions such as D&AD, ISTD and the Creative Conscience Awards

  • Create an industry-standard portfolio in your final year as a catalyst for your career

General Eligibility

We consider all applications on their merit and potential. We invite all applicants to an interview day or audition to allow them to demonstrate this, along with what inspires and motivates them in their field. Applicants can also show their portfolio or give a performance, depending on the course. We welcome applications from all subject backgrounds, whether you’ve specialised in STEM, the arts or the humanities.

UCAS Tariff points will primarily be from Level 3 qualifications such as but not limited to A-levels, T Levels, a BTEC/UAL Extended Diploma or a Foundation Diploma. 

Part Time Work Details

Twenty hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • For applicants whose first language is English, we require you to have or be working towards GCSE English Language Grade 4 (C) or equivalent. 

    If English is not your first language, you must meet the same standard, equivalent to the IELTS Academic 6.0 overall score, with at least 5.5 in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. We accept a range of in-country equivalencies and approved tests.
