Course Overview

You’ll learn core and contemporary subjects within psychology and have the opportunity to shape your degree around your own interests and ambitions. Topics include mental health, developmental psychology, positive psychology and well-being, and social psychology. You’ll also study contemporary social movements and global crises, currently including Black Lives Matter, climate change, and #MeToo, through a psychological lens.

Roehampton’s BSc Psychology is designed with your career in mind. From your first year with us, you’ll learn about the varied and fascinating careers where your degree will be valued and discover how to apply your psychological knowledge to a range of different fields. You will also take a credited work experience module in year two to build on your CV before graduating.

In joining Psychology at Roehampton, you will have the opportunity to become a Mental Health England First-Aider, or train and develop skills in mental health first aid, further expanding your professional development.

Many of our students choose to study psychology as the knowledge and skills they gain provide them with a great foundation for a wide range of careers. You’ll learn about human behaviour, data analysis, communication and teamwork. Some of the careers you could pursue include:

General Eligibility

  • passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Level; or

  • a pass in one subject at GCE Advanced Level plus (a) passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level, or (b) a Vocational A-Level Single Award, or (c) two Vocational A-Level part Awards;

  • a Vocational A-Level Double Award; or

  • a Vocational A-Level Single Award plus (a) two Vocational A-Level part Awards, or (b) passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level; or

  • a BTEC National Certificate or Diploma; or

  • a completed T-Level award; or

  • a Scottish Certificate of Education with (a) passes in five subjects, including at least three at a Higher grade, or (b) passes in four subjects all at a Higher grade or New Higher grade; or

  • the full Diploma of the International Baccalaureate; or

  • an Irish Leaving Certificate with passes in four subjects at Grade C at the Higher level.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • IELTS 6.5 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.
