Course Overview

This program runs over one calendar year. Students will study two generic research modules: Research and Information Skills and later Advanced Research Methods (Engineering), which are designed to provide the essential self-learning skills necessary for independent study and research during the year and will be taught along with students on other Masters programs.

Becoming an engineer is as much about having the tools to understand and use technologies as it is about communicating ideas and working with people. Therefore, the project focuses on planning, researching, designing, and data collection.

We pride ourselves in teaching using a practical ‘hands-on’ approach. The first technical module, Advanced Mechatronics, pushes the student to the cutting edge of technology, using case studies from our industrial and research projects and advanced control methods.

Taught by the people who brought you the Hands-Free Farm, Agricultural Robotics puts you in the driving seat of robot navigation, the current state art, ROS, LIDAR, and looking at the global picture of robotic technology in agriculture.

General Eligibility

A UK honors degree (minimum 2:2) or equivalent overseas qualification. Applicants with a good FdSc/HND pass in a relevant subject area plus at least two years of relevant industrial or professional experience may also be considered.

Previous experience, referees' reports, and interviews will be used to determine the suitability of candidates for particular programs.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
