Course Overview

Instrumentation and control engineers contribute to almost every area of modern manufacturing, service and financial industries. Our graduates work worldwide for various industrial and contracting companies, including ABB, BASF, BNFL, Honeywell, Tioxide, Petrofac, Sabic and INEOS.

You develop the skills to design and maintain advanced measurement and control systems and learn how these are applied to multimillion-pound chemical and manufacturing plants.

The North East is an important centre for the process industries – we have close working relationships with employers in this sector, giving you significant opportunities to gain practical experience and work on industry-focused projects.

General Eligibility

112-128 points from any combination of acceptable Level 3 qualifications. Examples include A-level, BTEC, Access to HE Diplomas, Scottish and Irish Highers, T-Level, or the International Baccalaureate.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • The IELTS score for international applicants is 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in each component).
