Course Overview

Combining education with other subjects provides opportunities for those who wish to work in professions associated with education but don't wish to become teachers. This course will develop your knowledge and understanding of the education systems of Scotland and beyond. You can put theory into practice in a community placement, enhancing your employability.

Please note that this course doesn't allow you to qualify as a teacher. However, joint honours Education graduates can explore postgraduate routes into teaching careers (via the PGDE).

Following the recent global economic crisis, economics is more important and relevant than ever. Decisions on money, banking, interest rates, taxation and government spending affect us all, with global consequences. Economics aims to understand the activities of the different economic agents – consumers, producers and the government – and how they all fit together.

Our degree will allow you to explain complex data in simple terms to different audiences. You’ll also develop excellent mathematical, statistical and problem-solving skills.
