Course Overview

The Healthcare Management pathway provides the knowledge and skills needed to be an effective manager in the health and healthcare sector. You will gain an understanding of the external context in which healthcare organisations operate, how they are managed, as well as the analytical techniques that can be applied to the decision-making process within the Health Sector.

The HND in Healthcare Management provides a combination of specific knowledge and skills relevant to effective practice in Health and Social Care combined with employability skills and academic learning. The programme emphasises a 'hands on' approach to Health and Social Care themes and is highly vocational; all students have to undertake work experience as an integral part of the programme. It is therefore an ideal course for those wishing to advance their career in Healthcare Management, develop their specific interests within the sector or equip them to undertake additional and higher responsibilities.

General Eligibility

Learners must be aged 18 years on or before 31st August of the academic year that the programme commences. A minimum of 48 UCAS points. GCSE English and maths at grade 4 or above, equivalent Level 2 qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent skills. IELTS 5.5; Reading and writing must be at 5.5 Examples of relevant Level 3 qualifications include: 2 x GCE 'A' Level passes 1 x GCE 'A' Level pass plus AS level passes in appropriate subjects BTEC National Diploma or Extended Diploma BTEC National Certificate A Level 3 Diploma or equivalent such as NVQ, GNVQ in a Health and Social Care (or related subject)

An Access to Higher Education Diploma awarded by an approved further education institution

Related work experience

An international equivalent of the above.

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.
