Course Overview

This course is specifically aimed at international students, supporting those wishing to gain practical work-based experiential learning. Together with studying your chosen course, we are offering an additional 6-month placement opportunity, making the course 18 months in length. This allows students with limited experience to put into practice the skills and techniques developed throughout the Masters degree. Our Master's course in Industrial Mathematics is designed to meet the requirements of the modern knowledge economy for employees with both the mathematical skills needed for modelling of industrial problems and processes, and the communication and teamwork skills needed to be able to apply these skills as part of a cross-functional or interdisciplinary team. In addition to acquiring a deep knowledge of mathematical tools and techniques needed to model industrial systems, we aim to develop the communication skills needed to understand the requirements of the problem owner and work with them to formulate a description true to the actual need and amenable to mathematical analysis. After the analysis has been carried youll also have the skills needed to communicate results in the context of the original problem, e.g. as actionable recommendations.
