Course Overview

You’ll have the opportunity to build hands-on experience without ever leaving campus. As you work toward your bachelor’s in Finance, you’ll have access to the Malesardi Finance Trading Room, allowing you to work with accurate information in real-time and start planning your career. We also offer state-of-the-art finance software, including live trading simulations, access to Morningstar Research Center, and a running ticker that scans and posts the latest market information. Additionally, Bloomberg Certification will be incorporated into your coursework. Finally, you’ll have the option to take courses that qualify you for the Certified Financial Planners exam as part of your undergraduate studies. Elmira is one of only 31 schools in the Northeast with a CFP® Board–recognized undergraduate program that fulfills the education requirement to sit for the exam. You will learn essential skills and specialized knowledge to help you excel in various careers, from commercial banking to asset management. Our professors have real-world industry experience, which means they are Finance and business experts and can equip you with the practical skills needed to achieve your goals. That’s why 98% of finance graduates are admitted to graduate school or employed within six months of graduation. Pursue your Bachelor of Science (BS) in Finance and a Master of Science (MS) in Management and graduate in the same time frame as your peers. Elmira’s unique Finance 3+1 program offers you the opportunity to earn two degrees in just four years. Complementary undergraduate and graduate degrees will equip you for career success upon graduation. Alums from this program have gone on to lead in the field of Finance and excel as accountants, analysts, and financial directors.

General Eligibility

The Finance major offers three concentrations: general finance, financial analysis, and financial planning. Regardless of which concentration (s) you choose, the coursework is designed to equip you with cutting-edge skills and knowledge to succeed in the finance sector.

Adding a finance minor to your degree is a great way to enhance your learning with financial knowledge and business acumen. You’ll learn about business strategies, accounting, financial planning, and valuable economic principles.

Are you interested in earning both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree? The Finance 3+1 program allows students to pursue a B.S. in Finance and complete an M.S. in Management in four years. This dual-degree program will help you expand your career possibilities and industry knowledge.
