Whether theyve lost someone close, had an unpleasant experience or even come through illness, they may need to reach out for help and support. This course combines the theory of psychology with practical counselling approaches, helping you build the skills required to help people in need. The course aims to give you a unique and invaluable insight into human behaviour. Youll have the opportunity to use the skills that youve developed in a wide range of situations, careers or further study. Well look at the science of mind and behaviour, which is the Psychology side of the course, and also at the different types of counselling approaches. Cognitive behavioural therapy, person-centred, psychodynamic therapy and others €“ youll have the opportunity to explore a wide range of techniques. Youll also look at the importance of health and wellbeing in day-to-day life, and how to support other people in their everyday lives.
