This professionally focused course is your route to a successful career in law. As you would expect, the course is rigorous and engaging, for outcomes that are highly rewarding. You enter the course on the four-year Master of Law and Practice (MLP) professional route. The four-year MLP route gives you exemption from the Legal Practice Course (LPC), the second vocational stage of training required for qualification as a solicitor. This route satisfies all your academic requirements and entitles you to proceed directly to a training contract with a legal firm. This route of study allows you access to tuition fee loans and other financial support, saving the need to personally fund a separate LPC course on top of your LLB (Hons. However, you may move to the three-year LLB (Hons) route after Year 2 if you choose to. If you take the LLB (Hons) route, you'll have a qualifying law degree for the purposes of training to be a solicitor or barrister, subject to completion of a separate professional practice course and training contract or pupillage.
