BA (Hons) Music

... United Kingdom
... Canterbury Christ Church University-CCCU

Course Overview

As a performer, composer/arranger, and musicologist, you’ll encounter an eclectic repertoire: the music of different cultures and traditions, past and present, as well as the established ‘canon’ of Western music. You’ll also have the chance to meet and talk to an impressive variety of creative practitioners and professionals, some as part of our teaching team.

You’ll rehearse, perform, and record in some of the most inspiring spaces in the country, including dedicated sound design labs, fine concert spaces within the University, and beautiful venues in the city, including Canterbury Cathedral.

We offer free one-to-one lessons as part of your performance modules and have generous scholarships for second-study instrumentalists and singers.

The BA Music course prepares you for as a performer, scholar, composer, and well-rounded creative musician who could take their place in the music profession and related fields such as arts administration and management, specialist retail, music journalism, and publishing. You’ll also be able to consider further training in, for example, music therapy, or teaching (in schools or colleges). Or you could choose to continue your education and research by progressing to Masters's and Doctorate levels.
