Course Overview

In today's globalized world, understanding economic principles and how they affect business is more important than ever. Well, give you a chance to gain a valuable grounding in economics with a deep knowledge of pure and applied mathematics, probability, and statistical techniques. This will allow you to develop technical aptitude and skills, enabling a career within areas such as finance, economics, and related fields. Economics examines how people and organizations utilize resources to meet their needs. You can look at economics at a national level, from the perspective of a household or even a single person. Social problems like poverty and inequality, high unemployment, and rising pollution can all be tackled through knowledge of economics. In the course, youll look at macroeconomics, which gives you a chance to explore how high-level factors such as income, inflation, and consumption affect each other, and also microeconomics which looks at how individual businesses and households behave and how to develop models to analyze them. Youll also have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of statistical techniques which can be used to help solve real-life problems involving analysis of data and interpretation of the results. You'll also have the opportunity to explore large datasets and extensive data analytical systems.

Entry requirements

BBB-BBCat A Level (including Mathematics grade B).

120-112UCAS tariff points from a combination of Level 3 qualifications, including Mathematics A Level grade B.

Meritat T Level including grade B in A Level Mathematics.

DDM-DMMin BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma plus Mathematics A Level grade B.

Access to Higher Education Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits at Merit or above. Mathematics modules will be required; please contact the Admissions Tutor for further information.

120-112 UCAS tariff points from International Baccalaureate qualifications (including Higher Level Mathematics at grade 5).

Part Time Work Details

20 Hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall, with no element lower than 5.5 or equivalent will be considered acceptable.
