In this course, youll learn how to combine historical context with current awareness of major global trends and challenges and evaluate evidence of various kinds. Your choices on the History side are historically and geographically diverse, and you can focus on what fascinates you the most. In your Economics studies, well introduce you to the basics of economics, both macro, and micro. Youll then apply these to contemporary social, economic, and historical problems, such as poverty and inequality, high unemployment, and rising pollution. Hopefully, youll figure out some of the solutions too. History has a 91.6% student satisfaction rating (NSS 2020). From year two onwards youll be able to choose option modules to get to grips with the topics that intrigue you. Youll have the opportunity to gain valuable real-world experience. In Year 2 you will undertake a work placement, designed to enhance your skills ready for employment. Innovative assessments such as pitching an idea for a historical video game or creating a visitor trail for a national museum. 90%-95% of graduates from these subjects are in work and/or further study fifteen months after graduating (HESA Graduate Outcomes 17/18, UK domiciled graduates).
The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent will be considered acceptable.
