Course Overview

From developing effective vaccines to advances in DNA forensics, molecular and cellular biology has been behind many modern scientific breakthroughs. If you have a passion for biology, an inquiring mind, and you're looking for a course that could set you up for a broad range of careers in industry or academia, then this could be just the course for you. The Royal Society of Biology accredits this course. Studying on our Biology (Molecular and Cellular) BSc(Hons) degree youll be able to get a well-rounded introduction to biological sciences. Covering topics across biochemistry, genetics, and cell biology, youll have the chance to build your understanding of the molecular explanations for life processes. Youll be taught by academics with doctoral-level expertise in their subject areas through lectures, in-depth tutorials, and sessions in our modern biological sciences labs. Here, youll get to use current scientific instrumentation and have the chance to develop practical skills that will stand you in good stead wherever your career path takes you.

General Eligibility

BBC-BCCat A Level, including a grade B in a relevant Science subject. The endorsement for practical work is an essential part of Science A Level study and a requirement for our degree course entry.

112-104UCAS tariff points from a combination of Level 3 qualifications, including a grade B in a relevant Science subject at A Level.

Meritat T Level in Science including a grade B in A Level Chemistry or Biology.

DMMin BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science.

Access to Higher Education Diploma with 45 Level 3 credits at Merit or above to include modules in a relevant science subject.

112-104 UCAS tariff points from International Baccalaureate qualifications should include modules in a relevant science subject.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

  • The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent.
