This certificate will allow nurses to develop and advance their skills to become reflective practitioners and implement evidence-based improvements to deliver support and nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
It will also develop surgical techniques for procedures falling within the remit of schedule three.
The development of the new RCVS post-registration framework has allowed for the creation of accessible, flexible, and focused areas of study, allowing veterinary nurses to further their academic skills alongside their professional skills.
Delivery will be done through distance learning and optional study days where guest speakers, seminars, and practical classes support the modules. A range of distance learning methods will be used, including study notes, e-mail, and Harper Adams’ interactive virtual learning environment ‘The Learning Hub.’ Access to a computer and broadband internet is essential.
Various methods will assess modules, including assignments, module examinations, and practical exams; in addition, support in assessment skills is available for those who have not sat a test recently.
You must be a Registered Veterinary Nurse. Typically, applicants with a registerable qualification from a Further Education background will enroll on the Graduate Certificate. Typically, applicants with a Higher Education (degree) experience will register for the Postgraduate Certificate. The most appropriate qualification for applicants will be considered depending on their profile. You will also need time, energy, and commitment.
20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
