Develop the core leadership skills required to take on a range of leadership roles and to lead changes in practice. This course will support you, both personally and professionally, to develop your knowledge and understanding of leadership within the context of healthcare and nursing. The course takes account of leadership theory and evidence from other fields and disciplines, and in applying this knowledge, you will be encouraged to reflect on and develop your own personal leadership skills and values. Change is an integral component of leadership, so developing your understanding of the drivers for change and how to lead and implement change are also core components of the course. Designed to offer flexible learning, this course is relevant to students across local, national, and international healthcare settings. It is delivered by a team who have all held leadership roles in practice settings and educational contexts.
You'll normally need to have a degree or equivalent and work in a health or social care-related area. We operate a flexible Recognition for Prior Learning (RPL) system by which students who do not have a degree may be eligible for entry. We recognize that students applying for this course may have acquired significant learning from previous educational and life/work experiences. We can offer potential students the opportunity of having such learning assessed for credit. This credit would go towards your application for this course.
