In partnership with our School of Science and Engineering and our School of Business, you will develop skills, knowledge, and understanding of specialized industry-focused engineering and fundamental management subjects. On the engineering side, you will study a number of subjects, including advanced robotics, where you will look at multi-modal sensor integration and human-robot interactions, and advanced manufacturing, where you will investigate modern and smart manufacturing technologies. On the management side, you will study a number of subjects, including project management processes, leadership, and decision making, giving you a key understanding of the roles and responsibilities of leadership. Under the guidance of our academic staff, you will undertake an industrial-related project for at least 12 weeks, gaining practical experience and valuable contacts in the industry. Recent project examples have looked at the optimization of material flow and enhancement of overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) in a manufacturing company, and proton therapy.
You should have, or expect to have, the first degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent. You are expected to have achieved a 2:2 honours degree, or an equivalent standard. Relevant work experience is also considered when a 2:2 degree is not achieved.
