This course will support you to learn the creative and technical skills you need to work in the animation and visual effects industry. This course mixes creative and critical thinking, and will develop your technical skill-set using industry-standard software. What sets this course apart from others is how industry-facing it is. You will work as part of a team on a live project to a targeted brief set by a professional-client, learn professional production animation and VFX pipelines, and receive feedback on your work from professionals. You will also develop a narrative-based film, showreel, or breakdown reel as part of your final submission. We have great connections to the animation and VFX industries, and many of our graduates have gone on to work around the world for top studios and franchises.
A first or second class honours degree in an appropriate discipline, although applicants with other qualifications or relevant professional experience will also be considered. You will need to submit a showreel of your work. This will need to be around 1-2 minutes in duration and uploaded to YouTube or Vimeo. You will also need to upload a portfolio of up to 15 images.
