Your studies on Birkbeck’s BSc in Bioscience and Health will be at the interface between molecular and integrative biology, evolving disease therapies, and epidemiology and public health. You will develop your understanding of the science that underpins the investigation, diagnosis, management, and treatment of disease and of the socio-demographic, economic, and environmental factors important in managing human diseases. Learning with internationally recognized researchers, and studying this bioscience and health degree will provide you with an academic grounding in the science that underpins modern medicine, with the opportunity to explore public health management.
You will develop a sound knowledge of scientific principles across a range of disciplines, including biochemistry, cell biology, chemistry, drugs and drug discovery, genetics, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, and physiology, and will understand their applications.

UCAS TARIFF POINTS
3 years full-time: 112-120 points (e.g. A-levels BBC-BBB - including biology, chemistry, and/or mathematics. A-levels in general studies and critical thinking are not accepted. Applicants with only two full A-levels are considered on an individual basis.)
4 years full-time: 48 points with some evidence of study in a science-related subject

GCSES
GCSEs (or equivalent) are required at grade C or grade 4 or above in English, mathematics, and double science (or two single sciences).
20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub-tests.
