Electrical & Electronic Engineering touches all aspects of our lives and is something we couldn't do without. Suppose you like the idea of creating electrical and electronic systems which could help millions of people on a day-to-day basis, like the systems used in phones, computers, or the generation and distribution of electrical supply systems. In that case, an Electrical & Electronic Engineering degree is for you.
This course balances the study of electronic and electrical engineering and focuses on applying these skills to real-world engineering situations. The study is broad enough to allow entry to various career paths in all electronic and electrical engineering areas. Additionally, students can progress to postgraduate research in this or a related field. In year one, the course focuses on learning engineering principles and practices, as well as computing skills and design principles relating to various engineering disciplines.
You will then further develop your knowledge of the principles of the field and engineering management. Finally, you will implement practical solutions across various applications and build your skills in lateral problem-solving and innovative thinking.
You will work on your honors project in your final year and gain enhanced skills in analog electronics, embedded systems, electrical machines, and power systems.
Our entry requirements indicate standard and Minimum qualifications with which we usually accept students. Competition for places varies yearly, and you aren't guaranteed a business if you meet the minimum qualifications.
Advanced entry into Year 2, Year 3, or Year 4 is possible for students with suitable qualifications.
