A foundation year helps you develop the study skills and self-confidence needed for higher education when you don’t reach the entry requirements for your subject.

Our Canterbury Campus, located in a UNESCO World Heritage Site and right in the heart of a beautiful cathedral city, is the perfect place to study History.

The academic team is all professional historians, active researchers, and published authors of national and international acclaim.

The course has been designed to enable you to follow your interests wherever they may lead. In Years 2 and 3, you can study a specific period or mix and match several.

We work hard to prepare you for the world of work by emphasizing the transferable skills valued by employers across a spectrum of professions, including empirical research, critical thinking, and clear writing. Recent history graduates have embarked on careers in heritage, education, the public sector, the arts industries, and business.

General Eligibility

A Levels: DDE

BTEC: MPP

Access: Pass 45 Credits

International Baccalaureate: TBC

Combinations: A combination of qualifications totaling 64 UCAS points minimum

Applicants without formal level 3 qualifications will also be considered.

Part Time Work Details

20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.

Language Requirement

• IELTS 6.5 or equivalency – with no less than 5.5 in any element.
