Do you want to boost your career prospects by studying for an maritime studies Master's degree alongside your current job?

On this MSc Maritime Studies Learning at Work Master's course, you'll gain skills, knowledge and confidence that'll help you become a greater asset to your ship – whether you're aiming to move from navigating officer to a managerial role, looking to pursue a role in international maritime policy or maritime security and defence, or thinking about transitioning from the Royal Navy to the private sector.

Because the course is work-based, you need to already be in a full-time, part-time or voluntary role. If you don't have an undergraduate degree, you could still do this postgraduate course if you have several years experience in a responsible position or you have high-level skills through experience that isn't reflected in your qualifications.

Your work-based projects have flexibility in their submission deadlines, and with no residential requirements you can study wherever is most convenient for you.

Successful completion of this course can also count in part or in full towards professional registration with the Institute of Marine Engineering Science and Technology (IMarEST).

General Eligibility

A typical applicant would usually have post-school higher education such as an HNC, or equivalent, or part of a degree course, together with appropriate work experience.

20 Hours of Work permit weekly for international students.
