Course Overview

Our planet is in urgent need of capable and well-trained wildlife conservationists to find solutions to the problems of biodiversity loss. If youre passionate about wildlife and planning a career in conservation, our exciting Masters's course will equip you with the skills you need. Youll focus on the sustainable management of wildlife and habitats, with an emphasis on developing practical skills and the ability to analyze and interpret data in the interests of conservation. Our course has been developed with international conservation organizations, so you can be sure youll be gaining skills and knowledge valued by employers in the field. Field trips give you the chance to apply your skills whilst working on conservation projects in the UK and abroad. You can choose to go on an exciting residential field trip (usually in Borneo, but this may vary) to explore the issues central to wildlife conservation in situ. There youll have the opportunity to visit a research station and apply your skills in a tropical forest conservation project. Every year we also welcome a wide range of guest lecturers who share their inspiring and innovative experiences of working in wildlife conservation.

General Eligibility

A first degree, with Honours, in a Science related subject and at a minimum final classification of upper second (2:1). Applicants with slightly lower qualifications may be considered if they have substantial work experience in conservation.

Language Requirement

• If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.5 (Academic level- with no individual score being lower than 6.0) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognized by Anglia Ruskin University.
