Throughout our course you'll develop advanced knowledge and skills in the diverse areas of applied bioscience, emphasising medical applications You'll also develop a comprehensive understanding of advanced analytical techniques. Upon completion of your Masters, you'll be able to confidently design, execute and critically analyse both independent and group-based scientific research in an appropriate area of applied bioscience. You'll be immersed in an environment that mirrors a modern laboratory setting and benefit from the expertise of our Biomedical Science team and their intimate knowledge and collaborations within the field of bioscience. The state-of-the-art facilities in our new Science Centre include specialist tissue culture and microbiology laboratories, as well as general teaching and research labs. We have a wide range of specialist laboratory equipment which you will use in practicals and your projects. We maintain strong links to a number of hospitals within the NHS, and related industries within the East of England.
A first or second class Honours Degree (2:1 or 2:2), based in a science-related degree or cognate subject, from a UK Higher Education Institution, or its equivalent, or the equivalent in experiential learning (a minimum of five years of qualifying employment). All applicants will be required to demonstrate their preparedness for the modules in Applied Bioscience. Prospective students with non-standard entry qualifications are advised to discuss their personal position with the course leader before applying.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.5 ( Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognized by Anglia Ruskin University.
