This degree will prepare you for a rewarding career in the NHS as a foundation doctor and beyond. We have an integrated modern curriculum, where youll be on placement in primary and secondary care from the early months of your course. Youll be given a robust foundation in the clinical sciences combined with clinical experience, leadership, quality improvement, innovation, and technology for health. Your training for clinical experience will include placements in primary care, mental health, five acute care providers, and tertiary units in Essex, such as the St Andrews Centre for Plastic Surgery and Burns and the Essex Cardiothoracic Centre. On campus, teaching will take place in our cutting-edge, purpose-built School of Medicine, fitted out with the latest laboratory equipment and a cadaveric anatomy suite.
Grades AAA at A level taken within two academic years prior to the year of entry to include Chemistry or Biology; and one of either Biology, Chemistry, Maths or Physics, plus one other. 5 GCSEs at grade A*-B (9-6), including English Language, Maths, and two science subjects.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
