Course Overview

Civil engineers shape the world around us by working on major projects to develop sustainable, resilient communities and infrastructure. Confronted with challenges such as climate change and a growing and changing population, their role in adapting current structures and systems is crucial. At ARU, we understand how the needs of the industry change. We've revised our Civil Engineering degree courses to make sure that you've trained in the challenges faced by civil engineers in the 21st century. With our newly designed degree course, your learning will be based around the civil engineering project, giving you the chance to immediately apply the theory you learn in class to address the challenges of the project. Using our specialist workshops and labs you will learn how to carry out site investigations, select the best materials for the job, analyze and design structures and engineering systems, plan the construction process, and assess and mitigate the environmental impact of the project.
