Course Overview

Our course aims to prepare students who may be considering Initial Teacher Education programs in the future and for those who wish to work in settings and special schools in a variety of employment opportunities such as mentors, teaching assistants, youth work, and special needs teachers. Work placements are built into the course over the three years to help you acquire some real-world experience while studying. The course offers opportunities for gaining understanding and knowledge about working with those children that are vulnerable, disadvantaged, and may have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. There are many opportunities in a variety of careers that will require this knowledge and the degree will greatly enhance your employability. It also allows you work experience within schools and other settings to improve your confidence and your knowledge of SEND.
