During the course, you will be introduced to the key issues and debates which inform contemporary practice as you develop Our course is rooted in photography as a creative practice as a form of personal expression or an agent of change. As your practice develops, we introduce you to different processes and materials alongside wider networks of galleries, museums, and employers in the North West and beyond, which includes a longstanding relationship with the Open Eye Gallery in Liverpool. We encourage our students to be critically reflective and explore a diverse range of contexts and genres, whether art or documentary, editorial, and fashion. You will draw on your personal experience and curiosity in relation to building a distinct, visual identity as an independent practitioner. Students have also developed portfolios, which have enabled them to work in areas as diverse as environmental, sports and music photojournalism. critically reflective and self-initiated practice. You will have the opportunity to engage with the medium of photography in an experimental way, and as the course progresses you will evolve a personal practice and visual identity in your chosen genre and context. BA Photography studies culminate in the Art and Design degree show where you will present a body of work, which has emerged from a personal project created over the course of your final year's study.
