This professional learning course is explicitly designed to provide up-to-date knowledge support for school-based professionals. Students will draw on their professional capabilities and extend their practice by engaging with the assessments designed to promote high levels of critical reflection and advance their practical research skills.
The course comprises two thirty-credit modules designed to provide theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of some critical educational issues. These include the recognition of the importance of practice underpinned by values and informed through a critical engagement with evidence. In particular, the block will explore values and evidence about the social and emotional aspects of learning and teaching.
First Class or Upper Second Class Honours Degree in a relevant discipline (applications from students who do not hold a 1st or 2:1 Honours Degree (or equivalent), but have appropriate professional experience may be considered).
Applicants must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status or Early Years Teacher Status, or equivalent.
20 hours of work permit weekly for international students.
There is a language requirement of IELTS 6.5 overall with a 6.0 minimum of all components.
