Our mission is to provide a program that enables students to grow in ability and confidence so on exit from the program they are equipped to deliver high-quality patient-centered care as rounded, caring, and compassionate health care professionals who they - and the wider profession - are proud to call paramedics. Our BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science course seeks to not only promote technical excellence but to nurture the professional values that place the patient, as an individual, at the center of practice. To that end the course has at its core a concept of a holistic approach to care, valuing patients as individuals and not merely a biological system. Students will be encouraged to take ownership of their own learning, as confident, motivated independent learners supporting the ethos of lifelong learning, supported by colleagues both in the university setting but also in the practice arena. They will learn through experience, inquiry, and problem solving; thus, enabling them to understand and not just know. The intention is to equip students to find sound solutions to the novel situations they will encounter in their professional lives. Students will develop a solid foundation on which to build their future clinical, professional, and academic development. The program seeks to achieve the very best in students enabling them to do the very best for their patients and the profession they will join.
