EC’s Clinical Laboratory Sciences program will prepare you to become a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), and Medical Technologist (MT), jobs that are in extremely high demand at hospitals, research centers, clinics, and universities worldwide.
You'll be well prepared to complete the ASCP licensing exam following your clinical year. A major in CLS (not biology) is a requirement for NYS licensure, so if you are considering working in a diagnostic laboratory someday, this program is for you.
CLS majors will spend three years completing their coursework and the fourth year performing hands-on training at an affiliated hospital laboratory in Rochester, Sayre, Jamestown, or Brooklyn.
