The BSc Computing Science will give you a wide-ranging understanding of computing in a variety of disciplines. Study topics include software development processes and technologies; foundations of programming; software modeling tools; object-oriented analysis and design; databases; and web service development. Careers available in a dynamic industry include software developer or software engineer, web developer, systems analyst, database administrator, database designer, IT consultancy, and technology sales. This course (Paisley & Lanarkshire deliveries only) is accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS) as fully meeting the academic requirements for registration as a Chartered IT Professional and, on behalf of the Engineering Council, as fully meeting the academic requirements for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partially meeting the academic requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Part-time students must complete their studies within 6 years to gain BCS recognition.
