Well equip you with the engineering knowledge and practical skills you need to develop and implement creative solutions to the engineering problems youll encounter when capturing and converting renewable energy. Youll gain a deep understanding of system design and analysis, project development, and implementation. Throughout this course, youll make use of lab and field-testing facilities for measuring and monitoring the performance of different renewable energy systems, such as wind turbines, photovoltaic power systems, and heat pumps. Youll also learn to use various tools for component and system design, as well as simulation of the performance and monitoring of renewable energy systems. Some of the tools youll get to use include Matlab/Simulink, GH WindFarmer, and WAsP for wind farm design; PVsyst for photovoltaic system design; and Labview for system monitoring.
Applicants should have a degree in a relevant engineering or technology subject at grade 2:2 or above For overseas degrees require a 2:1 or equivalent High 2:2 considered with relevant Maths content and relevant industrial or engineering experience
